Cranwood External Timber Cladding – Cranwood Industries

Cranwood External Timber Cladding

Wood is a natural and sustainable material and is increasingly being specified by architects for use in modern residential and commercial buildings. The increase in the use of external timber cladding on buildings in particular has been quite dramatic, as architects combine its beauty and sustainability to build in an environmentally friendly way without any loss of the aesthetic value of the building.

Untreated timber will weather and discolour over a period of time if it is left at the mercy of the elements. In order to maintain the colour of your timber cladding, we recommend that you have it pre-finished by Cranwood Industries before installation. A whole range of traditional and contemporary colours are available to choose from.

Western Red Cedar External Timber Cladding

Western Red Cedar is currently one of the most popular external/internal claddings, due mainly to its vibrancy of colour, its resistance to decay and high level of durability.  If it is left untreated it will weather naturally to a silvery grey or darker grey colour; alternatively it can be prefinished and stained before installation to help protect the materials natural colour.

Siberian Larch External Timber Cladding

Siberian Larch Cladding is a high-density softwood and is often used as an external cladding product. This particular species is a slightly to moderately durable product which is available with a low knot content appearance.  If it is left untreated it will weather to a silvery grey colour; alternatively, it can be prefinished and stained before installation to help protect the materials natural colour.

Iroko External Timber Cladding

Iroko is a highly effective external cladding due to its excellent strength, comparing well with teak.  It is highly resistant to decay and offers a high level of durability.  If it is left untreated it will weather naturally to a dark grey colour; alternatively, it can be prefinished and stained before installation to help protect the materials natural colour.

European Oak External Timber Cladding

European Oak offers a golden yellow-brown appearance and has distinctive grain with annual growth rings clearly visible on crown cut boards.  It is generally straight grained, hard-wearing and durable, offering an excellent cladding solution. If it is left untreated it will weather naturally to a silvery colour; alternatively, it can be prefinished and stained before installation to help protect the materials natural colour.
